A few people have asked for some assistance with improving their writing clearly.

The Clarity Rating Tool only deals with the lengths of words, sentences and paragraphs. It doesn't cover what those words are, or how they are arranged.

One thing I noticed in most writing guides available was that they all virtually ignore the formatting tools available to everyone thesedays - bold, italics and hyperlinking.

Therefore, this is guide updates the standard advice with some more on how and when to use these formatting techniques to make things even better.
