Decision Loops

A decision loop is a rearrangement of the Infogineering Model. Decision loops involve data, information, knowledge and actions in a feedback cycle.

Briefly, we use what we know to make decisions. Our decisions (actions) in turn change the world in some way (either data or information). We then turn this new data and information to update our knowledge of the world.

We can either change the world directly…

Decision Loops (Data)Or we can use our knowledge to create or update information resources…

Decision Loops

Which is what information workers spend their time doing.
